Tiana Buentello and Her Travels Across America

Tiana Buentello is a freshman at Frostburg State University. Her major is Mass Communication with a concentration in Journalism. Before enrolling, she and her family have moved to many different places throughout the United States. She was born in California, in the city of San Luis Obispo. Throughout her life, she has lived in her previously mentioned hometown to the age of eight, then lived on Frostburg until the age of thirteen. After that, she spent a few years living in Lexington, Kentucky, then a few in Ridgley, West Virginia, before moving back to Frostburg again to finish high school at Mountain Ridge. The reason why she and her family move so often, according to her, is because they enjoy experiencing a change of scenery every now and then. When asked about her travels, she had this to say:"I think it really shapes me into who I am, and gave me a lot of positive experiences. I got to see a lot different types of place in the country."

In addition to living in many difference places, Tiana and her family have traveled all over the country as well, visiting many different places. The most memorable places to her include Colorado, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Tiana says her favorite place is California because of the beaches, relaxed atmosphere, variety of things to do out there, and the fact that she still has a lot of family from there. Her father is from California, but her mother is from Allegany county, and the two met when her mother went to California in pursuit of higher education. Tiana says that, although she has enjoyed all of the places she’s been to, she longs for California the most.

Tiana hopes to one day start a career in creative writing, though she does not have anything specific in mind yet. She particularly enjoys poetry, specifically short poetry, and her favorite poet is Rupi Kaur. Besides writing, Tiana’s hobbies encompass various fields of arts and creativity. Among these hobbies include photography and painting, though she has not published any work as of yet.
