Defiant Kentucky Clerk Kim Davis Jailed for Refusal to Issue Marriage Licenses to Gay Couples

On Thursday, September 3, Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis was taken into custody under charges of contempt for her refusal to issue marriage license to LGBT couples in a rural Kentucky county, despite a direct order from the Supreme Court to do so.
