Getting
to Know Robert Higham
By
Elizabeth Ahn, ENGL 336
Robert Higham is a senior at Frostburg State
University. He is majoring in English with a focus in creative writing. He shares
how passionate he is about writing fictional stories. He has a few poems
already published. While talking about his accomplishments, he stated, “kind of
embarrassed by it, it’s not my best work. Wish I had more time to be fair.” He is
humble, kind, and very caring. If he could change one thing, he would change
the fact that there are a lot of terrible people and stop people from being
horrible to one another. He is the type of person who would go out his way to
do something for someone just to make them happy. He is from Chesapeake City, Maryland,
a small town in Cecil County. He shares how the town is “reasonably sized” and
how “it was a place where gossip travels quickly.” He also shared that going to
college was not very common in his town. He chose Frostburg because he thought
there would be fewer distractions then Towson University. Also, he mentioned
that it was 4 hours away from his parents so that also helped him decided. Even
though he never really actually thought about his dream job, he answered with
how he wants to write something to give people something they will enjoy and
help them forget about the horrible things that take place. His family and friends
are very important to him. So his main goal in life is to have a happy family
with a secure job. He shared how he most definitely enjoyed his college
experience and would not take anything back besides meeting a few people that
got in the way of his education. Robert has a passion for writing fictional
stories and his determination will ensure success in his future endeavors.
