Gwen Schemm Pittsburg PA native, decided to leave her home town and start her college career by committing to play Soccer at Frostburg State University. While she was excited to start her journey at FSU, she was sad to leave behind her parents, her little brother, but mostly importantly her beloved chinchilla Rommel. Schemm has a close relationship with her parents, her mother a German teacher, and her father, a soccer coach, with his own tee shirt business. She also has a very close bond with her little brother named Kurt because, they share the same love for soccer. Schemm gushed about her two year old chinchilla saying "Rommel is the best pet, he even lets me dress him up, and I know he doesn't like it much." Knowing it was going to be hard to leave behind her family and pet, Gwen moved forward with her plans to attend Frostburg.
Gwen now 19, and a sophomore at FSU, talks about how her experience with her soccer team has been so far. She said, "My favorite part about soccer is being with my team! My coach is a little intense, but my teammates make it worth it." While she is content with where she is at, it has always been a dream of hers to live in New York City and attend NYU. Schemm became more ambition her second year of college, and decided to double major in Communications and Psychology, with a minor in journalism.

No matter what dream Gwen has, she wants to fulfill it in New York City. Schemm sees no limits in what she can accomplish, and while only 19 she has such big exceptions for herself and the future. She won't let anyone stop her from living in the city that never sleeps!
